Children’s illustrations have always tickled my heart.

"I’ve always been a dreamer. Fairies, goblins, dragons, talking trees and magic mirrors populated my
childhood …

And now? I often nestle into this world to escape from reality.”

Daniela graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo, Italy, with a Bachelor of Arts specialising in
Decoration. She also holds a Diploma of Graphic Design.

In Italy she worked as a middle- and high-school teacher of Drawing and Art History, and in her free time
as a freelance graphic designer.

In 2008, Daniela and her husband moved to Australia with a desire to embrace a new culture and “to cuddle the cute and fluffy koalas”.

At first she worked as a Graphic Designer at Curtin University in Western Australia. Currently she works as an Italian language teacher for children at Beehive Montessori School. In her free time she teaches Italian language evening classes for adults at TAFE. A few years ago, motivated by her passion for illustration and languages and inspired by her lovely students of all ages, Daniela started to write and illustrate bilingual books. Daniela loves to travel, read, dance, walk along the beach and cuddle cute and fluffy koalas.
